Opti9 is pleased to announce Kyle T. Nelson has been named as Vice President of Business Development, effective September 5th. Mr. Nelson brings extensive experience in technical sales, project & solutions delivery and executive leadership in the IT Solutions marketplace. Kyle will be responsible for leading the business development teams, creating go-to-market strategies and will evaluate future acquisition targets and other growth opportunities.
Prior to joining Opti9, Nelson was with Quantum Corporation for 10 years, where he was Director of Global Consulting Services and, most recently, Vice President of Worldwide Solutions Engineering. As the Vice President of Worldwide Solutions Engineering, Nelson directly managed the Worldwide Sales Engineering organization and, among other roles, was responsible for multiple high-level Customer and Channel Partner relationships, which resulted in significant product sales and increased market traction. In his previous position at Quantum Corporation, Nelson’s primary responsibility was developing the business plan and go-to-market strategy that added Consulting Services offerings to Quantum’s growing portfolio of products and services.
Before his responsibilities at Quantum, Nelson held Executive positions at large Systems Integration and Professional Services organizations where he drove Sales, Delivery and Business Operations aimed at Revenue Growth and Profitability.

Kyle Nelson graduated from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska in 1993. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communications with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations.
