CTO Sagi Brody to Speak on Ensuring a Secure Hybrid Cloud via Direct Network Connectivity

NEW YORK, December 13, 2016 – Opti9, a high-touch, agile Cloud and fully managed infrastructure service provider, today announces that its Chief Technology Officer, Sagi Brody, will speak at Pacific Telecommunications Council: Changing Realities (PTC’17), to be held January 15-18, 2017 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village® Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, HI.

On Monday, January 16 at 3:30 p.m., Mr. Brody will present “The Best of Both Worlds: Ensuring a Secure Hybrid Cloud via Direct Network Connectivity” as part of the Topical Session: Cloud/Networking featuring representatives from EdgeConneX®, GTT Communications, Level 3 Communications and Megaport in South Pacific 3.  When it comes to cloud strategies, many of today’s companies opt for a combination of on-premises architecture, managed services and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions.  Mr. Brody’s presentation will explore the ways in which this hybrid approach enables organizations to leverage existing infrastructure to cost-effectively maintain control of sensitive data in-house, while simultaneously expanding computing capacity.  In addition, he will discuss the various challenges associated with a hybrid cloud strategy, specifically data security and maintenance of standards compliance when connecting on-premises infrastructure with that of a third-party cloud and/or Managed Services Provider (MSP).

During this session, Mr. Brody will illustrate how companies can get the best of both worlds, leveraging on-premises infrastructure and secure, compliant private cloud and managed services in a way that is both easy and cost-effective without ever touching the public internet.  Attendees will learn how to utilize interconnection fabrics and direct network connectivity to Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and MSPs to securely expand their IT ecosystem and future-proof their business.

“As the telecom industry evolves, we’re experiencing a growing need for a new network deployment model that can bypass the internet and ensure comprehensive privacy and security,” explains Mr. Brody.  “Opti9’s deployment model effectively enables SLA- and contract-backed cloud services to be delivered directly inside the customer’s internal network and consumed as if they existed on-premises.”

PTC’s annual conference is the Asia-Pacific’s premier telecommunications event.  The event is a strategic springboard for the global telecommunications industry. The conference provides all attendees with a three-day platform to focus on planning, networking and discovering what the new year will bring.
