A Look Back at VeeamON 2023: Innovation, Collaboration, and Recognition

June 28, 2023 | By Greg Dougherty

Hey there, Cory Mac Donell here, and today I’m excited to share my VeeamON 2023 experience with you all. This year’s event was full of innovation, inspirational insights, and exciting announcements.

I’ll kick things off by diving right into one of the event’s highlights: the introduction of Partner Day. This new addition aimed at strengthening the relationships between Veeam partners was truly a game-changer. It created an incredible environment for learning, sharing insights, and forming powerful connections. As someone deeply rooted in the cloud solutions space with HostedBizz, a proud Opti9 company, I genuinely appreciated this unique opportunity to interact with fellow industry leaders.

An unforgettable moment for our team at HostedBizz came when we were honored as the Canadian Partner of the Year, receiving the coveted Impact Award. It was a deeply humbling experience to stand there, accepting the award on behalf of our team, knowing that all our hard work and dedication towards providing superior disaster recovery solutions were recognized.

The launch of our DR Lite service with Wasabi was another proud moment. Seeing our CTO present the innovative service, designed to offer an efficient and cost-effective object based disaster recovery solution, was an experience to remember. It reaffirmed our commitment to empower organizations to leverage their existing Veeam infrastructure in a more secure and cost-effective manner, something we’ve talked about a lot here at HostedBizz.

Now, let’s talk about the event organization – it was impressive. Veeam has done a great job ensuring seamless interactions, making it easy to connect with Veeam employees, partners, and also allowing for top-notch presentations. Kudos to the team for pulling off such a well-executed event.
Among the many impactful presentations, one that really stood out to me was by Christopher Voss, the CEO of the Black Swan Group. As a former FBI negotiator, his insights into negotiation and communication were nothing short of enlightening. It was a valuable lesson in how these critical skills translate into our digital and cloud-oriented landscape.

All in all, VeeamON 2023 served as a fantastic reminder of the strides we’re making in data protection and disaster recovery. It was a testament to the innovative spirit and collaborative energy that propel our industry forward. I am looking forward to continuing our partnership with Veeam and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cloud solutions.

Until next time, stay innovative, Cory
